What is collected

Signing in with Google or Discord stores your display name, the provider's account identifier, and a one-way SHA-256 hash of your email address. The email address itself is never stored. Votes, submissions and flags are stored against your account. There are no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no IP logging.

Google user data

Signing in with Google uses the openid, profile and email scopes. From those we receive and store your Google account identifier and name, plus a hash of your verified email used only so that a Google and a Discord account sharing one address resolve to a single account. The raw email address is never stored, and the access token is discarded after a single use. Your Google user data is never sold or shared. Account data is retained until you close your account; sessions expire after seven days.

Strictly Better's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Closing your account

You can close your account from your profile. It removes your display name and the provider accounts you sign in with, and signs you out everywhere. Your contributions remain on the site, no longer linked to you.
